Dear Aunt Helen, Debbie, Jack and Tim,
I am sad to hear that John has passed. I spent a lot of time with his brother, Ted, before he passed in 2011 and he spoke highly of John and often. Again, so sorry for your loss.

Dear Aunt Helen and cousins Debbie, Jack, and Tim;
We are very sorry to learn of Uncle John's passing. I remember him well. My father Ted, respected Uncle John for his mathematical and engineering ability. There is a story about Uncle John that my father told and retold to me almost my entire life. As I recall, when Ted and John worked together as Tool Engineers, one of their clients, a large New England company, had a major problem with a manufacturing process and invited in experts from MIT and elsewhere to solve it. No one could. Ted asked John if he could help. Uncle John took the problem home and returned the next day with the solution in hand. He created a unique and simple algebraic formula that solved the problem. The company was amazed and grateful.
We all respected Uncle John.
