Lorraine Kapinos 1930 - 2013 CHICOPEE - Lorraine (Chudy) Kapinos, 82, died Sunday, March 10, 2013. She was born in Three Rivers and was the daughter of the late Frank and Victoria (Gaj) Chudy. Lorraine grew up working in the family oil business. She later became an accomplished artist. She attended the Traphagm School of Design in New York City. In 1952, Lorraine married her husband of sixty years, Dr. Frederick Kapinos, a Chicopee dentist and they raised four children. Lorraine is survived by her husband, Frederick, her daughter, Kathryn M. and Dr. George A. Woronko of Doylestown, PA and their late son, Nicholas F. Woronko, her son, Dr. Frederick J. Kapinos and his wife, Monica and their three children, Frederick S., Alexander K. and Christina G. of Longmeadow, her son Paul S. Kapinos and his wife, Ellen and their two children, Stephanie J. and Paul J. of South Hadley. She also leaves her daughter, Carolyn Kapinos Boyd of Derry, NH. She leaves many nieces and nephews. Lorraine loved spending time with family and friends and especially entertaining. She was past president and a long time member of the Springfield Garden Club. There she met her best friend and confident, Joann DiRico of East Longmeadow. Special thanks to Agnieszka Dziedzic and her loving family. Lorraine's funeral will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013 from the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee Falls at 10 am follow by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in the Basilica of St. Stanislaus at 11 am. Her burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are on Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
