So sorry for your family's loss. We have just learned of her death; we were her new neighbors. When we bought the house across from her's last summer, she was so warm and welcoming, she reminded my husband and me of our favorite Aunts. She immediately offered to loan us her lawnmower, since we were first-time homeowners and had nothing! We are very saddened to learn of her passing - she was a bright light indeed.

Sending my sympathy to Mary's family and friends. I worked with Mary for a short time many years ago at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. She had a cheery hello for everyone. Over the years when we have run into each other, there was always a laugh and pleasant conversation. Wishing you all peace and healing, that only time will bring.

Mary I clearly remember scavenging dollar after dollar from family members to dance with you at your wedding when I was 10, I loved you as long as I can remember. You were so much more than an aunt, you provided guidance, love, and so much more to a teenager trying to figure out life. You never stopped being part of my life and I am so glad you got to see me trying to be a great parent just like you, I wish my girls got to know you better. Save a dance for me in heaven, I'll be looking for you...

Mary and I were fast, hard friends back in high school. Once we graduated and grew up our lives went down separate paths. Even so, we reconnected at high school reunions and I always felt like no time had passed. We exchanged our tales of life's trials and joys. Though we travelled different roads, when they crossed, we were always right back where we began - giggling girls hanging out together. I will miss that laugh but I will never, ever forgot it or the warmth and love that emanated from her so effortlessly

To Mary's Family and Friends,
I met Mary when she started to work at PVOC. I was the AFLAC lady! We didn't know each other long, but we shared a lot, thru e-mails and texts both business and friendship wise, which I will miss. Mary was one of those women when you left her presence, you always went away smiling and for that I will always be grateful. I'm glad we were able to say our goodbyes and a last hug on my last visit to see her. I can now look up and know another angel has my back! Thank You!

finger prints left upon the heart
the heart you touched
the touch that developed a flame
embers that glow in all their glory
from a flame you started that caused
me to burn from within where you touched
me so deeply
eyes that stare upon my being
a smile that teaches me joy
joy that brings me peace
solitude, contentment, my inspiration
laughter which evokes the pure essence of life
my life that you so entered
deeply, profoundly, graciously
and yet so gently loving
proudly I walk with you
in the new horizons that we seek
you are the shadow that stands
behind me in mirrored image
wherever you are or go
your presence graces the very soul
of me
it is your flame that burns so intensely
it is your being that I so desire
it is the touch of you which forwards
me to heights never before realized
it is your body that touches mine in the night
a body that reaches for me
a kiss that provokes my tenderness
a look, a smile, a laugh
which brings me full circle unto myself
realizing the mere pure, virgin fact
that I love you, my dear "m"
you are my "mary"
my "mary jean russell"
and that is you
for just being you is why
this man loves you so

the stairway to the heart
as you become closer
it is of you that brings me to this place
you are the breath of fresh air that fills
the most fractured soul
you are of the mellow golden
moon beams
the sun's ever shinning warmth
the glorious and magnificence of
womanhood
in all that you bring to the world
and this man...now
of laughter, of smiles, of truth
the window to my soul
you slowly become
forwarding me to heights never before imagined
of my dreams, my aspirations, my desires, my goals
my not being blinded by the light nor the darkness at night
you have become the part of me that
ebb tides the tributaries of my mind
the glowing penetrating sunshine
that keeps me warm on the coldest of winter days
you are the faith, the inspiration, the so desired love
that encourages me

in time at this moment
as I sit down
caressed in the thought
and image of you
the time is young between us
you and I
I discovered you
found you
and yet I knew you before
we met
I am compelled to write this
for you are the occupation of my thoughts
my heart does not sing much
for it is not a casual one
this heart of mine
but it is from your inspiration
the child, the girl, the woman,
the soul/heart, the passionate self,
the desire to discover, the intelligence of the mind
that you seek
a voice of quiet and calm that is heard
from me
the funny, the silly, the laugh
that provides me with these words
and yet
brings me forward to you
as a breath of fresh air
with your windows and doors wide open
to want to see your dreams, desires
all your adventures
come true
and always be open to you
once I wrote
“what about that"
and even more
it seems I could look into your eyes
and never see the same thing twice

Mary, I will always remember your humor, the love you gave me, your endless energy and the warm comfort I felt being near you. In my mind, you will always be that laughing Aunt, who, on a lazy summer day, would spray me with the hose because I thought I could run past you faster than you could spray me. I always enjoyed being in your company. I love you!

I decided to tell everyone publicly what I was saying privately while on my knees the other night. I thanked God that you were my sister and for all the color you added to our family and our lives. I have included a photo I sent you 2 weeks ago (!) because you found so much joy in it. I didn't have time to tell you that my Grand daughter Lilly has the the same twinkle in her eyes that you did. See you on the other side sissy.
Love always - your brother Jim
