Darlene E. Plante, 52, of East Longmeadow, beloved wife of Daniel Plante, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her family and friends after a valiant battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Born on March 27, 1966 in Springfield, MA, she was the daughter of Margaret (Niksa) Berthiaume and grew up in Springfield. Darlene graduated from Cathedral High School in 1984. She met and married Dan in 1994 and lived in Agawam for several years before moving to East Longmeadow in 2001. She worked as the Lead Phlebotomist at Baystate Reference Lab in East Longmeadow for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends in the summer at Lucy’s house on Cape Cod. Darlene’s greatest joy in life was being a devoted mother. Besides her husband Dan, she leaves her 2 cherished daughters, Olivia and Catherine Plante of East Longmeadow; 2 step-children, Christopher Plante of Northampton, and Amanda McDevitt and her husband Steve of Brooklyn, NY; 7 siblings, Armand Berthiaume (Pauline) of Agawam, Bonnie Thulin of Burlington, CT, Bruce Berthiaume (Sheila) of Springfield, Theresa Ricard (Raoul) of Sturbridge, Richard Berthiaume of East Longmeadow, Roland Berthiaume (Tami) of East Longmeadow, and Marguerite Crane (Tony) of Enfield, CT; her dear friend Joanne DelNegro; as well as a multitude of greatly loved nieces, nephews and cherished friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Gary Berthiaume.
Her family will receive friends on Friday, March 15th from 4-7 PM at the Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main St., Agawam. Her Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, March 16th at 9:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately for family. For those wishing, memorial donations may be made to the Dana Farber Institute, 450 Brookline Ave. Boston, MA 02215.

I am so very sad and so very sorry to hear of the loss of your sister, sister-in-law, and Aunt. Her passing so young and from her battle with cancer is heartbreaking.
