Rene W. Langlois 1923 - 2012 SOUTH HADLEY - Rene W. Langlois, 89, of Saybrook Cr., passed away peacefully on September 13, 2012. He was born February 18, 1923 in Chicopee, MA, son of the late William and Angelina (Beaudry) Langlois. Rene retired in 1985 from National Blank Book after working for 44 years. He was a communicant of St. Theresa's Church, a member of Knights of Columbus Council #4044 in Fairview and the So. Hadley Council on Aging. A proud veteran, Rene served his country in the Army during WWII. One of Rene's greatest joys in life was being surrounded by his family. He also took great pride in his home and enjoyed watching the Red Sox. He is survived by six children, Audrey Taylor and husband Chick of Somers, CT, Rene Langlois, Jr. of Chicopee, Faye Rivest and husband David of Holyoke, William Langlois and wife Sandy of Cottondale, FL, Deborah Rainaud and husband Stephen of So. Hadley and Kenneth Langlois of Chicopee. He also leaves a sister, Cecile Ross of Holyoke, seven beloved grandchildren Kim, Jason, Matthew, Lindsay, Krista, Adam and Scott as well as his five great grandchildren Alessandra, Brooke, Drew, Grace and William. Rene was preceded in death by the love of his life Doris E. (Jubinville) Langlois on Jan. 27, 2012, two brothers and three sisters. Calling hours will be Monday, September 17th from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St. So. Hadley. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa's Church followed by burial in Notre Dame Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home for 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
