Daddio,
It's so hard to believe Saturday a year ago was the last time I saw you. I so vividly remember that day together, our parting ways and our last words to each other. You were heading off to a celebration dinner which was your last meal, where you had your all time favorite prime rib and a nice relaxing beverage. As we got into our cars we were making plans to get together that week. You were so happy that day, surrounded by your whole family from near and far. You looked so great, vibrant, full of life and happy! I can see you hopping into your Jeep and driving off into the distance, with your hand waving to me as you drove past and then waving to Kristine as she sat on the front steps. I could have never imagined that would be the last hug, smile and kiss from you.
Rest in peace until we meet again I love you

Dad, I can't believe it's going to be a year since I last saw you. I remember going to Florida for a week and missing you so much and calling every night I was gone to fill you in on what happened each day. I don't know how I've made it a year without talking to you on my way home from work or sitting on your bed and chatting until two in the morning about anything and everything. I miss you more than words can say and I wish I could have just one more day to just hang out and talk about DMB or the Red Sox, to have just one more creative meal you would throw together, or just to take a ride in the jeep with the top off. I miss having you around to laugh about the little things and how we had so much in common. I love you so much Daddio.

Pa,
It has been nearly a year and not a day goes by without you in my thoughts. Whether that be a song on the radio, a task needed to be completed or just something that we both could laugh about. You were the man with the plan, and I try to fill those shoes daily. You always made me proud to be a Pieciak, proud to be your son. I miss your wisdom, your jokes, all of those life lessons; practical and impractical, but most importantly, your presence. I strive to be at least half the man you were and even if I do manage to meet that goal, I'll still be up there with the best of men. I'll always see you as the best humanity had to offer and I will always remember you for that, as well as everything you were to our family and your friends. I love you Dad.

Rich, I just wanted to say you're missed every day. The strong tough family that has felt the loss of you each day has faced so many difficulties, but you have been here in your own way. Through Teresa's birthday, the water filter, your birthday, through Mike and I getting engaged, through Thanksgiving (I know you're proud) and soon, Christmas. You've shown through the good news with Teresa, and as always, through the people who love you so greatly, who take on the day, even when they think they can't. Keep looking over all of them. You're in our hearts. Much love, Susan

The Pieciak's
I think of you all as my second family, and I am beyond words for this loss. Rich and Deb, you have raised a tough family. Strong, big hearted, and passionate individuals.
I will cherish the memories of driving in the caprice, of soccer games, and soccer talks, of traditions, of cards games around the table, of you tube videos, and always having the camera ready. How Rich always got into his stories, laughing so hard he would wipe tears away, and he always captivated the room. How he would walk around the corner to get his coffee, scratching his belly. I was always so nervous when I would see him at a game, because I wanted to do my best, and hear him on the sidelines-although he never was my coach, I knew how enthusiastic he was, and I wanted to make him proud. From watching any game his favorite team would play, every tv in the house would be tuned in so he wouldn't miss a second. He was the best cook, always experimenting, and offering seconds, even when you were stuffed. And the family favorites only got better each time he recreated them. He had this sense of humor he passed on to his children, and even through these tough days, you guys have managed to lean on that, and tell stories that make you smile.
I can't tell you all how much I admire your strength, courage, and love during this tragic time. I love you guys, and Rich would so be proud of you for all that you've done and will do.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the unexpected passing of your husband and father. I was fortunate to be able to feel how much love there was between you all when I tutored Melissa after her accident. When your Dad came home from work everyone stopped what they were doing and ran to greet him at he door with big smiles and hugs. I also remember the little kitten that one of you found in your yard. Despite the fact that she was not supposed to stay, she was there every time I tutored because the "little girls" wanted her. In fact, she was there for a very, very long time. There was more than enough love for her, too. I hope that your memories will give you strength during this painful time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
