Ronald James 1948 - 2013 SPRINGFIELD - Ronald A. James departed this life on Monday, July 15, 2013 suddenly and entered into eternal life. Born in Bridgeport, Conn. on December 17, 1948. Ronald was a long time resident of Springfield MA. Ronald was educated in the Springfield public schools and attended Springfield Technical High School. He proudly served the U.S. Army as a combat soldier in Vietnam. Earning 2 Bronze Stars. Ronald was previously employed by the City of Springfield as a laborer with DPW (Department of Public Works) and the Springfield Parks Dept. as a maintenance worker. Predeceased by his mother, Gwendolyn Green James. Survived by his father Arthur James (Marie) Houston, Texas. His brother Richard James (Sharon) of Springfield, MA and nephews, US Navy Seaman Raushaun James and Kamari James. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Henderson Funeral Home, 52 Hancock Street, Springfield, MA. Visitations will be from 10:00am to 11:00am, followed by the Funeral at 11:00AM. Burial at Oak Grove Cemetery. Further information @ www.hendersonsfh.com.

My sincerest condolences to the family of Ronald James. Ron was a good friend in my worst of times. A soldier's soldier and a man of honor. A true hero of mine and one who our nation owes a debt of gratitude. Rest in peace Ronbo!
