To the Stehly family;
Dave and I attended the Allentown Reserve unit while I was a student at Moravian. I am pleased to read of his accomplishments since then, he was a true leader and inspiration to me.
My sincerest regards.

David you will be missed from everyone who knew you I still have two of your canes and love them I appreciate the time I had to spend with you at your studio to see your work. God Bless you.

Just heard of Dave's passing. Bill and I were so fortunate to meet and become friends through carving and the few shows we did together. We will forever cherish our canes. Bill so enjoyed talking "carving" with Dave. We send our love and condolences to his wife and family. Whittlin Willy and his wife.

I just got back from the Kutztown Folk Festival where I spoke with a carver from Bethlehem...who was selling some amazing birds. I asked him if he was familiar with the work of David Stehly and he, of course said he was. I could tell from the caliber of this man's work that he and David had to have known each other since they were fellow carvers who shared the love of woodworking through the creation of one-of-a-kind works of art. He then said that he and David often "used to" do shows together until he passed away...and that news blew me away. I had no idea that David had passed on and was truly shaken by the news. Please know that Bill and I are so sorry to hear of David's passing, and pray that Susan and his children are finding comfort in their memories of Dave. Bill and I are very fortunate to have 15 of David's walking sticks which we cherish and which will always remind us of him when we use them. That will certainly happen a lot more as we grow older! We send along belated condolences and many prayers for solace and comfort. By remembering him and knowing how much David was loved by so many people, surely his legacy will be carried on forever. Peace and love from Pam and Bill Hoy, until we meet again, either here or on the other side.
