Ronald A. Lewis
Ronald A. Lewis, 79, of Laurys Station, died Saturday, June 29, 2013, at the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Doris E. (Bedford) Lewis. The couple celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary last January 14. Born in Franklin Forks, Susquehanna County, January 12, 1934, Ronnie was the son of the late Reginald Lewis and Rachel (Tingley) Lewis Belcher. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era. Since the age of 16, Ronnie was employed as a truck driver for various trucking firms, last employed by J. B. Hunt, Inc., retiring in 1989. He was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ, Laurys Station, a member of the New Milford Rod & Gun Club, a member of the Egypt V.F.W. Post # 7293, and a life member of the American Legion Post 899, Walnutport. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Doris; children, Ronald Mark Lewis of Laurys Station and his companion, Louise Buss, Chris Miller and her husband, John, of Harrisonville, Connie L. Wentz and her husband, Roger, of Lehighton, Mike F. Lewis and his wife, Monique, of Laurys Station, Cheryl L. Beers and her husband, Frank, of Northampton, Cathy L. Thomas and her husband, Mike, of Moorestown; brother, Frederick Lewis of Susquehanna; sister, Betty Jayne of Winchester, TN; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; predeceased by siblings, Reginald and Roger Lewis, Marilyn Wellman, and Evelyn Conklin. Services: A memorial service will be announced at a later date. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Johns U.C.C. Memorial Fund c/o the funeral home, P.O. Box # 196, Schnecksville, PA 18078-0196.

To the patient man who taught the game of softball to me and saw the lack of my talent. I remember the man who bettered me in softball as my talents were very lacking there. I also remember the many pinochle games my father Joe, Ronnie & their other pals played while all the moms & the kids picniced. Ronnie (and his family) was the best neighbor anyone could want.Well into my teen years everyday after school we had a neighborhood baseball game.Ronnie was the pitcher.Took us swimming and even Made us a pool, that fit 12 kids! RIP Ronnie and a BIG thanks for the memories!!
