Hi Diane,

So sorry to gear of the death of your brother. He was just a baby when I knew him, long, long ago when we were at school together.

I have very happy memories of Paul... right back to music lessons at Grove school when we had a triangle each and bashed them enthusiastically when it was our turn...through the years that Carole, Jan, Jayne and I were regulars in The 'Shoes on a Wednesday with a Diet Coke and a Mars Bar each. Not forgetting of course the year we went to Buckingham Palace for Trooping the Colour. Right from the minute we got off the bus until we stepped inside the palace gates Paul kept stopping every few minutes to polish his shoes. He then came up with a cunning plan to stand behind a party of schoolchildren on the forecourt as we'd be more likely to get into the papers (it worked - he made it into either the Daily mail or the Daily Express, I can't remember!) It still makes me smile when I remember that he scooped up and pocketed a handful of the pink gravel as a souvenir, he was so delighted to be there. Big hugs and much love to you all xx
