Dr. P,
Gone but never forgotten.
The lives and legend of Dr. P prevail.
The world was better because of you.
You truly left much more than you took.
I will forever remain grateful for you…...for us.
Be all well my dear friend.
Miss ya.
Love ya.

Don,
It has been a year, and I still don't have the words to write this. But I'll try. I'll always remember the days we spent together getting smart at the UCSF Pulmonary seminars, and what a jovial and fun man you were to be around. I so enjoyed eating our picnic lunches on the grass and hearing some of your SF stories. I came to appreciate what a gifted pulmonologist and what a caring individual you were after joining South Bay Pulmonary and working cheek to jowl with you and SJ and Chuck. What a privelage! Now, I alone am left from South Bay in our old haunts. But your and Chuck's energies linger, and not a week goes by that I don't hear your laugh or see you in your yellow shirt.
SJ,as so often, said it best.
Miss you buddy.
Love ya.

Where do I start? These past five or so years have been filled with fun times with Don & Kathie.

I remember the first time we went out to dinner with them. We went to Aqui in Willow Glen and sat outside. Though I had met Don a few times before, this was the first time as Kathie's date. Don was so smitten with Kathie. It was a dinner filled with good food and many, many laughs. His love and joy were infectious. That was the start of many wonderful times together.

In addition to enjoying many meals together, we also enjoyed playing cards, going to plays, concerts and other entertainment events together. Steve Lippia's concert in Tahoe, Bill Cosby at the Flint, a couple of Cirque du Soleil shows, Cavalia and an unforgetable night with Raul Malo are just a few of the memorable events. Sometimes Don wasn't feeling well, but he didn't show his pain and always was full of enthusiasm and childlike joy.

Trips to our Tahoe house were also memorable and full of fun. One particularly memorable time we were sitting around our dining room table playing cards and something flew by at table height. We investigated and it was a bat! Then we all tried to catch it. Don was so excited and was enjoying the chase. The bat finally stopped flying and Bruce was able to hit it and the bat fell to the floor. We quickly threw a towel over it, scooped it up and placed it outside.

Another time in Tahoe, we were discussing the recent bear break ins. Don set up his camera and turned it on to take pictures all night. He was hoping a bear would walk in front of his camera. We all had a good laugh but there were no pictures to keep.

Don loved spending time with Kathie, his family & friends. We will miss him.
