Gladie Tuscher Obituary

Gladie Tuscher
4/11/1933 - 6/10/2015
Resident of Campbell
Gladie Tuscher was born in Redfield, South Dakota and was raised on a farm by Wilhelmina and Ralph Boyd. She graduated from Northern State University of Aberdeen S.D. with a major in music. While she was fond of S.D., she later left for California via Seattle and never looked back. She devoted her time to charities and organizations that were close to her heart: Santa Clara Players, Discovery Shop in Los Gatos, Heritage Theater, Golden Tones, US Immigration department and the Campbell Library. She loved to sing, perform and volunteer for local theater groups.
She operated her own day-care business for many years and made friends at her various jobs and volunteering.
She liked anything subversive and was quick to challenge conventional thinking right up to the end. She maintained her sense of humor despite suffering from terminal cancer.
Her quick wit and independent spirit will be missed by her family, especially her children René (Mark) Holmes and Terry (Lisa) Tuscher, and her grandchildren Patrick and Ryan Holmes, and Gretchen and Robin Tuscher who adored their grandmother.
Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society or in support of the SB-128 End of Life Options legislation.
It was her wish that she not have a memorial service and her children are reluctantly honoring her wish.

Sending the family Rene, Terry & all the grandchildren of Gladie condolences and my love during this sad time. I've known Rene since I was 8 years old. We were always into some kind of mischief which Gladie would tolerate at times She also used to give me rides to the track club: The San
Jose Cindergals which Rene & I were on. Her mother was very kind to me & always quick to smile. May she rest in peace.
Love,
Jill

I am so saddened by Gladie's passing. Gladie was a good friend of my parents (Gene & Cele Pincus). She was a wonderful, caring person and a very important part of my daughters' early education. They attended Greentree Academy in her home for kindergarten and preschool. She also choreographed bridal fashion shows in the early 80's, and enlisted her fellow actors as models. I will always remember how her smile lit up the room. Please accept my sincere condolences and know that she was special to so many people.
