Duane was a gentleman and a character. I will never forget his "school zone" serve that never got above 25mph... drove me nuts. Smart guy, great heart. He will be missed.
Rest in Peace Duane. Dear Sue, my deepest condolences to you, Jaime and Grant.
I'll never forget Duane's wonderful demeanor on the tennis court........winning was only second to laughing. Duane, above all I'll miss your wonderful sense of humor at our post-tennis match lunches.
Sometimes it is the small moments you remember when someone is gone....the
times Duane spoke so enthusiastically of his Monday horseback rides with Jamie or talking about Grant's water polo....
Your fight is finally over, you ole Bear! I already miss your advice about these hedges and the specimen trees, but I will have some of your flora-wisdom to carry on with, thank you. You also taught me some valuable lessons about terminal illness that I want to keep handy. I am relieved for you and for Susan that your fight is over, it was long and hard. Rest easy now, sir, you were well loved.
After a 45 yr friendship it is hard to put into words the loss I feel. Duane was funny, strong willed and sentimental. I hope he and Steve are sharing the high school stories that Sue and I heard about a million times but just shook our heads and laughed at. We loved to see you guys happy.
Miss you Doctor!!
