Across the miles, I just now heard of this amazing woman's passing. She was a pillar in the hotel industry, always professional and always willing to mentor the young people in the industry.
She was a close and dear friend while I was in the Bay Area.
Odette, my beautiful and charming friend from the time we were neighbors in Tustin when our children first introduced us. You taught me to swear in Arabic when I was learning the language preparing to go to the Middle East--an example of your lively humor--you couldn't have known it would prove to be useful! We sent coded telegrams to Farah, Empress of Iran, because she had been your schoolmate and you had been unable to communicate with her, but we only succeeded in getting the attention of the Savak, and black limosines circled our townhouse community while they investigated your audacity. I learned so many examples of your courage as you helped me through trials and triumphs. You and Sam were a rock. I'll go to my grave grateful for you, and for your lovely family. I thank God for you having been in my life, and in this world, and now you are in His, as you leave this one a much poorer place. My heart goes out to Sam and the children, with love and prayers, as they go on without you. Till we meet again!
A true professional, not only in the Hospitality Industry. Odette showed me a true "LUST" for life. I will always remember our many sales trips to Sacramento when we were the only two properties in downtown San Jose. Shopping, laughs and true friendship afforded both of us the opportunity to grow together. You will be missed but not forgotten. I Love You,
You will be missed, my beautiful friend
Odette was one in a million! Her smile brightened any room she entered and her "too blessed to be stressed" resonates with me today. I'll miss you my friend, but know you are happily walking with God. With deepest sympathy.
You were a friend and a mentor to me. Your love and kindness was truly unconditional and you've shared that with everyone that you came into contact with. I will always live my life with love, compassion, and thoughts of you in my mind. I miss you so much.
Odette, the Grand Dame of Hospitality!
Thank You for being my friend and I am grateful for having you in my life.
You will be greatly missed.
Ms. Grand Dame.......I will always remember you fondly. Your presence and energy was boundless and infectious. I admire most how you pushed so many, including me, to the outer fringes of what they thought was possible of themselves. You believed in people regardless of their beliefs in themselves. What a knack. There are so many professionals who are now true professionals due to your teachings and encouragements. I regret that I cannot be present today for your celebration of life, but know that you are in my thoughts today. Yesterday is the past.......we can't change that, tomorrow is not promised.....today is a gift, that's why it's called the present. Go with Love, my fashionista.......
I just found out today about Sister Odette's passing & I'm truly saddened. She was such a blessing & always made us feel special. We'll miss her bubbly personality, her smile, & her Christmas cards every year. But we will meet again. Sam, we love you & thought about both of you often. You're in our prayers. God bless you.
Mom touched many lives. She was such a warrior for God. I will surely miss her presents here but i know she's hapoier where she's at right now. Love her dearly.
What a wonderful woman of God who has impacted so many lives. Our lay chaplain class was about 50 two years ago at she has been training chaplains for many many years. "You are AMBASSADORS OF GOD" as she put it and she was one of the best. What a wonderful imprint she has left on the world. Thank you father for Odette Genevieve Morrow, her joy, her strength, her humor and her style. May her legacy continue and may you keep your hand on her husband and children at this time...and always. Amen.
My husband and I were frequent guests of the Morrows in years gone by. We have so many wonderful memories of holidays and fun times there. Odette was truly the hostess with the mostest! She always had a ready smile and a hug to great you at the door. She told the best, funniest stories, often jokes at her own expense about how clueless she was when she first came to the U.S. Yes she was good, but she was also shrewd, savvy, and had a wicked sense of humor. We will miss her terribly but rejoice in her victory over death. She truly made the world a better, brighter place for having been in it.
My thoughts and prayers go out to you Andre, your wife and family. She is looking down from heaven upon you with our Lord Jesus Christ and thy Holy Mother the Virgin Mary at her side.
To the family of Odette G. Morrow. She was a very strong willed lady, she always made sure she got her point across, and because of her I'am the CHAPLAIN she help me to become..I graduated her chaplaincy class in Dec.,1994. She always gave me compliments,She espeacially loved my smile..Odette would say to me, When you smile you light up the room..I will always remember the legacy she instilled in me and her student Chaplains..IT'S NOT GOOD-BYE ODETTE, IT'S LATER..SEE YOU SOON AT THE GATE!
Mom, I am so blessed to have had you for a mother. Your legacy lives on and I know we will see each other again. I do miss you so much though and have relief knowing you are with the one you lived your life for (Jesus). I love you!!! Son #2

What can I say about the person who mentored me and who taught me everything I needed to know about hotel sales. I am where I am because of you. I will miss you greatly but I know I will see you again.
My sister, my mentor and my friend...my life was so blessed because you were a part of it. I have no words to tell you how much I will miss you. May God comfort your family in knowing you are in the ultimate destination. I know they will have such a void in their lives with you gone. Love you sister....kami
