I received the notice on my cell phone of cousin Bob's passing too late to attend the services. But thank you so much, Michaela, for remembering to contact me. As you can well imagine, Bob's wonderful personality, singing, humor & wisdom extended to all his Donovan cousins & researchers & to all those he met with us in Ireland and Wales. Bob made our trips far more special with his joy of discovering mysteries. I have posted his obituary on the Donovan-O'Connor Family Reunion Facebook page, & I would like to invite you to join, if you would like. As you likely know, John Donovan Scartagh married Catherine Donovan Bawn in 1841 in Leap's St Mary's church. Their daughter Catherine who married John L. O'Neill was just one of a dozen children we have been tracking all over the United States & also Wales & UK where they wandered. Bob was a big part of that research, because he was your O'Neill's family historian, & he cared about getting it right. My heart goes out to all the O'Neills who were privileged to have this man in their lives as father, grandfather, etc. Please contact me so we can stay in touch. I have Sandy O'Neill's e-mail address I believe. cmczizek@gmail.com

Dr. O'Neill holds a very special place in my heart. He was not only our family dr, delivered me and my siblings he was my godfather. He was kind, gentle and delicate with his words. He left a footprint forever in my heart and the Beuselinck's.

Dr. O'Neill was the first person I met in this lifetime since he delivered me in April of 1956. He was generous to my parents to a fault and even delivered my mother's last child - her 11th - as a bonus. He was an honorary member of our family and was always welcomed there. He and his wife, Sunie, took in and cared for a couple of our family members when are house was destroyed in a fire in 1962. He will be missed, but I am sure he has earned a good place in heaven. Thank you for all you have done for us and so many others. I will always remember him.

Bob was my doctor and my daughter's doctor. He helped me through being a young mother full of anxiety about newborns and showed love and care in doing so. He was a special man. I remember my dad would joke about how Dr
said my sister Anna was on the house since she was the last of 11 children. We all will remember his kindness to our family.

My thoughts are with you during this time of transition. Your father help my mother deliver many of my family members, including me. He was such an key figure in our family. I can still hear his voice, see his smile and feel his tender care from all the visits to his office. My mother and father respected and trusted him and he guided them through so many experiences. We will miss him and always remember him with love and fondness.
