Surrounded by her family, Eva Marguerite Crawford Wood peacefully entered into rest on Mar 7, 2013. She was 87. Eva was born on May 31, 1925 in Chicago, IL to Sloan and Marguerite Crawford. Raised in Chicago, she met her future husband, Thurman A. Wood. They were married in 1943 at Goodfellow Field in San Angelo, TX. In 1947, following World War II they moved to Los Gatos, CA, where they raised five children.
Eva retired after thirty years as a Psychiatric Technician at Agnews State Hospital. She traveled to Europe and China, became a Deaconess for the Los Gatos Presbyterian Church, was a Regent for the DAR, a member of the Los Gatos History Club and Ming Quong Guild. Eva had a deep love for her husband and children, cats, and gardening. She was an avid Anglophile and collector of antiques.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thurman, in 1978.
She leaves behind sister Marguerite Lloyd (John) of Oakdale; five children: Marguerite Dahl (Gary), Eva Wright (Ed), Louise Blake (Ron), Bruce Wood, and Brent Wood (Nancy). She also leaves behind ten grandchildren: Vicki Pershing, Albert and Jason Vieth, Amy Ferrari, Ben and Samuel Blake, Keith and Bryan Wood, Ashley McDonald and AJ Wood; four great-grandchildren and two nephews.
A memorial service at Los Gatos Presbyterian Church will be held Thursday, March 14th at 2:00 PM.
