James William Lockett III, 56, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013, in Mountain View. Born in Savannah, Georgia, J.W. was residing in Gilroy with his wife, Vicki, while working as an electrician for the city of San Jose. James was a beloved "dogfather" to his four dogs: Mac, Bogey, Fiona and Sophie; a cherished step-father to Erin Files (NM), Adam S. Campbell (S.F.) and Emily Campbell (Gilroy); and a highly regarded father-in-law to Richard Files (NM) and Sarah Campbell (S.F.). His favorite role, however, was that of "Grandpa" to Reilly and Reagan Files (NM) and Ivy Kathleen Campbell (Gilroy).
J.W. is also survived by his sisters, Lynn Pierce and Patricia Woods of Georgia and Anne Malone of Ohio; as well as countless friends and family members whose lives were enriched simply by knowing him.
Jimmy will always be remembered for his humor, generosity, fantastic barbecuing skills, and love of animals.
Memorial Services will be held at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Gilroy, on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 2:00pm. A reception will follow at 3:30pm, at Eagle Ridge Clubhouse, Gilroy.

Still remember with great fondness the time Tammy and I visited him in California. He certainly knew how to "show you around town". And what a chef! He will be missed. He's probably cracking jokes to Saint James and John in heaven as we speak...
