Resident of Grass Valley, CA
Jim passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 12 in Grass Valley.
Jim and his family made their home in Los Gatos before moving to Grass Valley.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Doris; sons, Jimmy (Mary Ellen), Ryan (Lisa), Jason (Anne Marie); sister, Evelyn Sink (Carl); 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and many friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30pm on Sat, May 18 at St. Patrick's 235 Chapel St., Grass Valley.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Jim Risdal Memorial fund. Contact (408) 777-8100.

Doris and family, Mary and I want to express our sympathy to you on your loss of a wonderful husband and father. I have so many wonderful memories of riding on the bus in grade school in Roland, Iowa. I was so glad that we found each other after 50 years. He had said that he was hoping to come to Iowa for our 50 year class reunion from Roland next year. He will have a reunion in heaven with the other classmates who have passed away from our class.
