John Lewis Haines
Sept 12, 1932 - June 29, 2013
Resident of San Jose
John Haines passed away on June 29 after struggling with Alzheimer's Disease.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; son, Michael; daughter-in-law, Belinda; and grandchildren, Nicholas and Mikaela.
John grew up in San Francisco with his parents, Jack and Edna Haines and his sister, Etta Marie. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and then attended San Jose State to earn a bachelor's degree in business. He taught high school for 33 years, the last years being at Santa Teresa High in San Jose. John was a great fan of the San Francisco Giants and 49ers and enjoyed cheering them on with family.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, July 20 at Trinity Presbyterian Church 3151 Union Avenue, San Jose.
