Ray was born on February 23, 1950 in San Jose and passed away on July 18.
Ray attended Prospect High School in San Jose and later worked as a professional bartender for over 20 years. He spent the last few years living on his boat in Monterey.
Ray was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Cantwell, and his brother, John Cantwell.
Ray is survived by his father, Dr. John Cantwell of St Thomas Medical Clinic in Santa Clara; his step-mother, Elizabeth Cantwell; and his sisters, Rita Smith (Mike) and Kathleen Reddis.
A service will be held at 1pm on Monday, July 29 at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln Street, Santa Clara.
