With a sad heart I respectfully give my sincere condolences to Dr. Hosobuchi's family. I had the good fortune to have Dr. Hosobuchi as my neurosurgeon in 1974 at UCSF Moffit. I was 26, and had a large aneurysm. Kaiser was my insurance provider, but would not operate on me. Dr. Hosobuchi had the knowledge and skill to perform my 13 hour procedure;he gave me my chance to live, and saved my life. Dr. Hosobuchi was a wonderful doctor, and there will always be a place in my heart for him. With gratitude.
To the family of Dr. Hosobuchi,
Nobody touched my life the way Dr. Hosobuchi did. He not only saved me from spinal cancer (1983 UCSF Moffit) at the age of 22 and got me to walk again, but he gave me a full life after giving me a successful brain surgery (same cancer) when I was 29. I am now 54, and whomever I have touched has also been touched by this great man. Always impeccably dressed, this brilliant man gave the greatest gift to others with his craft: life. I am forever grateful. He will be missed.
We just heard of this and wanted to express our sorrow at the news and send our condolences to Dresden and the family.
I lost a friend and neurosurgery lost a genial collegue
