I just learned of Larry's passing and struck hard by it. Larry was my first manager at the AAR's Transportation Test Center back in 1985. Even though our paths did not cross often once he had moved on from the AAR, I would think of him often as not only someone who had vast railroad knowledge that gladly shared and used to mentor, but he also took an active interest in those about him as people. You are missed Larry, we are at a loss without you.

Godd bless Larry and his Family.
I worked with him on several projects and found him to be a terrific person.

I've worked with Larry for years on rail research in this country and abroad. What a tragedy and reminder that at any moment the unexpected can happen. He will be sorely missed.

I knew Larry Daniels personally he was my neighbor . He was one of the kindest men you could ever meet . I never knew exactly what he did for a living until now . I would stop to talk to him a couple times a week as I walked my golden retriever by his house , and every single time he would have something pleasant to chat about . What a gentleman . This tragic incident has been so unfortunate , especially for all of those that were blessed to have been apart of Larry's life . He will definitely be missed by me .
