Muriel Carolyn Scott (nee Young) passed away peacefully in San Jose on April 23, 2018 at the age of 93.
Muriel was born April 25, 1924 in Long Island City, NY to Gertrude Rohe Young and John Young Jr. Muriel graduated from Hunter College in 1945. She worked as a kindergarten teacher, a church secretary, and later owned a consignment shop. She had a lifelong love of music and was an accomplished classical pianist.
Muriel is survived by her children, Carol Henley and John C. Scott (Dee); grandchildren, Alex Scott III, Andy Scott, John Henley (Vivian), Amy J. Henley; and great-grandson, Lachlan Scott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander C. Scott, Jr.
She will be interred at Flushing Cemetery in Flushing, NY.
