Norman Joseph Leal died peacefully on August 6, 2015 at the age of 75. He was survived by his wife Kari Leal, his two step-sons Robert Boom (Jessie Guzman), Wayne Boom (Katrina Boom), and his five children; Ken Leal (Kathy Leal), Kevin Leal (Kimberly Leal), Kathleen Discher (Daryl Discher), Kelly Discher (Dean Discher), and Kyle Leal (Jennifer Leal). Norm loved all of his 13 grandchildren and will be missed by many friends and family.
Norm grew up in Manteca and moved to Palo Alto for high school. He set down roots and raised his family in Sunnyvale. He had a life full of love and adventure. A memorial service is scheduled for October 3, 2015 at 1:30pm at Saratoga Federated Church. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the National Kidney Foundation.

Hearing this sad news late breaks my heart. I'm very honored and thankful to have met norm. He gave me an opportunity working at his shop while I was living in my van. I started as clean up boy. And gave me great learning experience working on cars, how to run a business. He was very close with my brother who had known him longer, I'm very sadden over this cuz not only was he my boss he became a good friend. We've spent great time just talking hanging out. I miss his calls saying hey what you doing when are we fishing. ? Man loved fishing and cars. But most he loved his family very much. Great hearted and loving caring , respectful would do anything to help caring man I've ever met. And I know his family and misty and bailey the dogs gonna miss him so much. I miss going with him to get the dogs and taking them out cuz he wanted to just hang out. I'm gonna miss you buddy your forever in my heart thank you for everything you've done I'll never forget you

He was a dear, sweet man!!! Always made us feel welcomed!!! Despite having fallen in his driveway just days before, he insisted on making it to our wedding - we were so happy and blessed to have him there!! Forever in our hearts and minds!!
