Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Ruth passed away at the age of 94 on April 25th. Always known for her curiosity, sense of fun and enjoyment of the small moments, Ruth lived a beautiful, if not always easy life. Born in Danville, Illinois, where she lived most of her first 84 years, she enjoyed her horse and love of nature. She married at 19 to Robert Hutton, and they had two children, David and Suzan. After her divorce, she spent about 30 years working at Recording and Statistical in Danville, IL and raised her two children with the help of her mother, Esther Foster, whom she took care of until her mother's death at 97 years old.
At the age of 84, Ruth relocated to Cupertino, CA to be near her daughter and her family and spent the last years of her life enjoying her new friends and all of the outings, classes, and programs offered at her assisted living facility, Sunny View. Ruth enjoyed travel and was able to visit Hawaii, Costa Rica, South Africa, England and Paris and cruised the Panama Canal and Alaska. Always a lover of nature and animals, she had pets her whole life.
Predeceased by her son, David Hutton, Ruth is survived by her daughter, Suzan Hutton-Yoshihara; grandchildren, Doug Hutton, Michelle Hutton, Christina Yoshihara, and Tyler Yoshihara; and great-grandchildren, Tori Sickler, Lucy Hutton, and Grace Hutton. Ruth will be remembered for her smile, zest for life, love of a good party and great food, and love for her family and friends.
