I met Bill a couple of times at conferences and very much enjoyed working with him on the Globalization Handbooks for .NET. He was always the passionate, but good natured advocate for the international user. He will be missed greatly. My condolences to his family.

Too sad to hear that such a great professional has left us but our prayers go to his family and closest friends.

I "met" Bill when we published a brilliant article by him in the Ccaps Newsletter about Resources in Microsoft .NET for which he had promised a follow up. I hope that when we "meet" again he will have worked on that sequel... =)

May he rest in peace and find out how to internationalize heaven.

Bill worked at my company for a few years, as an employee and consultant, in the mid-1990s.

We admired his intelligence, gentle personality and desire (and ability) to help.

He was a remarkable man.

On behalf of SimulTrans, we extend our sincere condolences to his family, both close and extended.

I had the opportunity to go on couple of sales calls with Bill. I was in awe at his knowledge and eloquence in front of clients.

Bill, you will be missed.

Bill was a pioneer in the internationalization industry. He taught many developers the correct approaches and techniques. When we met at conferences Bill was always upbeat and had an infectious enthusiasm. He will be missed by both his friends and family and our industry as a whole.

I am very sad to learn of Bill's passing. I enjoyed his company immensely. He was always helpful and seemed to always be upbeat and had many good stories to share. His tutorials and books were excellent, detailed and very clear, which made him popular as a speaker.

One of my favorite memories of Bill, and I used to tease him about this incident, occurred as we attended a conference together. I saw him scribbling on some papers and assumed he was making notes for his upcoming presentation. I moved over to the chair next to him and saw he was writing a number of equations down, that had nothing to do with the conference. I whispered to him to find out what he was doing. He was working on equations for relativity and travel near the speed of light. That was his way of amusing himself. I asked why he couldn't just do a Sudoku like the rest of us...
He loved science and physics and we had some good discussions on these topics as well as flying and customs from around the world. He also had great pride in the accomplishments of his children and often spoke of his family.

Bill, you were an important light in our industry and a friend to many. I was enriched for having known you. You will be missed by many. My condolences to your wife and family.

15 years ago, freshly arrived to US, I have attended an internationalization class with Bill.
Since then, I had the privilege to work with him a few times.
Not enough. But he touched my life, and he is and will always be MY TEACHER.

Bill, though you are now in a better place, I wanted to convey to you the thought that you will be missed by those whose lives you enriched. It was an honor and pleasure to work and interact with you from time to time over the course of the last two decades.

While we, the HighTech Passport team, have known Bill only professionally, we have not only admired him as the excellent Windows internationalization guru he was, but also as a man with special and unique qualities. He was a teacher to many of us and a role model to even more of us.

He will be missed ...
