Fr. Bill was so kind and generous with his time, even to strangers. He gave two long, patient interviews to my then 14 year old son in the fall of 2011, to support Patrick's research paper on the role of Catholic Church in science. Fr. Bill even responded to email questions when Patrick found his position criticized by conservative and liberal classmates. We have included Fr. Bill in our prayers ever since, though I didn't know he had passed away. We will now pray for his soul and his family and friends.

My father has spoken of Bill and his wonderful writings. I live in Australia and intend to read his works. Its great to know that his brilliant mind enlightened us about the connections between Science and God. Thanks be to God for this beautiful man.

One year ago today this good man was taken to his heavenly home. I miss him and will always remember the gift of his friendship, his gentle kindness. Bill's humble manner hid a brilliant, enquiring mind. As a man of faith and dedicated astrophysicist he loved to show how there can be no conflict between discoveries in science and faith in God for God is in all we discover. Eternal light shine on you Bill.
