To Pastor Darlene Bishop, family and SRC. I'm so thankful I got to meet Pastor Lawerence Bishop. For SRC was my second home church next to WHC. Whenever I was in Dayton (my hometown) I would bring my mom, brother, cousin or other family or friends to come and visit this great ministry. Pastor Lawerence made a difference in so many lives including mine. I always loved the New Year Eve services.(: My prayers, thoughts and condolences go to you Pastor Darlene Bishop, family and SRC.
To Pastor Darlene and family. My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time. May God continue to strengthen and keep you.
Praying for you and your family during this trying time. Keep preaching it. As I know Pastor Lawrence would want you to. You are a fighter and never forget God has not forgotten you. I am not saying that He did this by any means but He knew He could carry you through. It is His up right plan for you to keep preaching the word and His upright hand that will sustain you.. I know you haven't been around me that much, but when I found out the loss of your husband my heart was immediately grifted. I am sick of prominent leadship being taken out a premature age. But, I guess that is why God is God and we don't know everything. If I can ever be of any assistance, please let me know. I write an encouraging blog for a church called Graceway that I am visiting at this current time in my life. You can visit it by going to www.robertsministies.org. I pray that it is an encouragement to you. tell jana to keep singing in the fire choir. that Cd is so very much an inspiration to me. and I know that her daddy would want her to keep singing. Love you, Brittany McCann 540-250-7880 and at email@example.com

Lawrence Bishop family, Bernall and Martha Blevins from Morgan Co. Ky. you and yours were all special yo us We loved it when you guys came to play at our house in rich hollor.. Just over the hill from where you lived. TAKE CARE OF YOUR SELF dARLENE.
Lawrence taught me a lot about horses and life. He will be a part of my life forever!
"Horses give us the wings we lack" and you, LB, gave me advice once, the wings I lacked. Never forgotten.
Darlene, I have often seen men whose conversions to Christ was an era in there own intellectual lives, but never have I witnessed a better example of a life changed for the betterment of all believers. In short, Rev. Lawrence Bishop was a legend to an era of the Pentcostal Faith. His messages incisive and powerful with appeal. His music was warm and steadying to a drifting society. Add to the fact he had a smile that would disarm an Iraqi terrorist. Darlene I truly Love you and your cowboy. But now he belongs to the ages. You are the proprietor of my deepests admiration. With all the love your heart can hold.
My prayers are with the Bishop family. May God continue to give you comfort in your time of need. Pastor Bishop is in good hands he's resting with our Heavenly Father. Waiting to hear the words Well Done Thy Good and Faithful Servant. I love you guys, My Brother and Sister in the lord.
My prayers are with you and your family during this time. I praise God for having the opportunity to have such an awesome Pastor, and church family. We will continue on in the faith, and keep the main thing, the main thing!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
Ruth Ann Mahaffey (author)

I am so very sorry to hear of Lawrence's passing. He was a special person, known from our days in horses, & I wish this family had been closer to go to his church. I heard him preach once, & thought him very good & would liked to have heard him more often. He & his wife were also very supportive & generous to the early Cowboys for Christ efforts at the Quarter Horse Congress. Lawrence Bishop & his family will always be remembered.
My sincere heartfelt condolences to his Beautiful wife Darlene and the rest of the family. Words cannot express how shocked I was by this news. I've visited Solid Rock on a few occasions and had the privilege of hearing both him and his wife bring forth the word of God. What a annointed vessel of God!

The Bishop family has been a great asset to our family. We are deeply saden by this news. We are a military family that has moved to Dallas, Tx. When my husband returned home from Irag, Both Pastor Lawrence and Sister were right there with our family for prayer as my husband dealt with horrible nightmares. Without God and the prayers my husband would not have made it. Pastor will be greatly missed.
