I worked with Will at Liberty and we hit it off almost immediately. We shared the same warped sense of humor and had a similar work ethic. He was truly a good guy who cared deeply about his wife and kids. My prayers go out to his family and those close to him,may he rest in peace.

I attended Notre Dame High School with Bill and played football with him all 4 years. Bill was one of the nicest guys I ever knew in high school and I believe he was elected our class vice-president. I had no idea until today that he died on 9/11. I wish him peace and rest. God bless you Bill

As I cross-stitched your name on the memorial that I am doing for all of the victims, I prayed for you and your family. Please know that your death was not in vain. We will always remember. God Bless.

Though I never knew Will well, I didn't need to. I knew he made Susan and the kids HAPPY. He brought joy and laughter to their lives. I knew he was a special guy with a great heart and a gentle soul. Forever in our hearts. May you rest in peace.

I work at Boehringer-Ingelheim in Ridgefield, CT which hosted a memorial service today. They handed out pins with names of those who perished on Sept.11 and I was honored to wear William E Spitz's name. William and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers. May God Bless.

My brother and friend Andrew sent me this link and I was spellbound. I am overwhelmed at the amount of people my father touched in his life. Although cut far too short his was a life filled with fun, love and most of all enough humor to make you laugh until you cry. Nobody can ever take the place of my father.
To Susan, Rachel and Andrew: The legacy he left us was his positivity through thick and thin. As well as his undying love.
To my sister Lauren: His love for you was always something to be envyed and he will always be watching you.
To all those who my father touched...you should consider yourself the luckiest people, you were truely in the presence of greatness.
Daddy....I love you, I miss you and I apoligize for our mets!
Love you always
Pam...always your little girl

Andrew was one of my first friends when I moved to Oceanside in third grade and has been one of my closest friends since. I met Will when he married Sue and he was a person who never took the smile off his face. He brought happiness to everyone he met, especially Andrew, Rach, and Sue. He was a great man who will be sorely missed.

Will was everything a big brother should be and more. In elementary school, he always made sure I was on the bus. He taught me how to bait a hook. He tried to teach me how to surf (unsuccessfully) and taught me how to drive a stick shift (quite sucessfully). We shared many wonderful summers at the Jersey shore, although I didn't realize how wonderful they were until years later. We were with each other when we married, we spoke the day each of our children were born. We had many conversations about our families, our hopes and dreams, our grief and our fear. He was with our father when he passed away and was the best comfort our mother could have had. He was and is an integral part of my life, he is still teaching me.

As a husband, a father, and a friend, Will never stopped trying to make people happy. I'll always remember coming over to see Andrew, and Will would be cooking (as usual). Even if i wasn't hungry, i would eat because I would never want to miss out on his food. He was a great man, and i could never thank him enough for making my best friend Andrew, and his mother and sister, the happiest people in the world.
