My history with Katchen was only a few years, but the impression she left with me is indelible. In addition to her many outstanding accomplishments, she was also instrumental in putting smiles on the faces of over 700 brides and grooms at The Wadsworth Mansion.Paul Dodge Long Hill Estate Authority.
I was just thinking of her the other day and am sad to hear of her passing. She was an amazing woman and I enjoyed conversations with her very much.
I have known Katchen for many years. It was a particular pleasure to usher with her at the Church of the Holy Trinity for three years. We will miss her. John joins me in sending our sincere sympathy to Kitty and Lissy.
May the Almighty God grant the family peace and comfort during these difficult times. I Thessalonians 5:11
I knew Katchen from working at The Connection. She was always incredibly supportive, kind and interested in my professional and personal life. She was always larger than life to me, and someone who I hope to, in at least small ways, emulate. Katchen has been an incredible role model and a good friend. She lived life on her own terms, and even in the face of death, she did the same. I am deeply saddened by our loss.
Sorry to learn of Katchen's passing, she was a larger than life conservationist. I had the pleasure of getting to know Katchen as a volunteer who also served on the conservation committee of the Rockfall Foundation years back. My sincere sympathy to her family and friends.
Katchen was the most genuinely kind and loving person I've ever known. Through her generosity she made a difference in the lives of so many. There are too many stories to be told. She will remain a part of all who knew her for the rest of our lives. Thanks, Kachen.
Rest in Peace Katchen, you have left such a large foot-print of love, devotion, respect, caring and quality of life for all the citizens now and in the future of Middletown. "well done my good and faith-full servant, well done".
You will be dearly missed and always with me in my heart and because of your generous life and who you are, always and forever in your laughter and smile and heartfelt council... you helped to keep me safe and sane without judgement.A gift like No other.Cheers to your new transformation. Will see you again my most remarkable friend.Blessings to your family and friends in these next few dark days.you are missed.
Her vision and her work has touched the lives of numerous people and the ripple effect has changed many families and the community. A wonderful woman. I was blessed to serve with her for the last several years and I will miss her.

Irrepressible, a force of nature; Katchen epitomized the broad, nurturing, healing impact that one person can have on a community and the world. She constantly dared to think about how things could be better. She pursued the resulting visions with doggedness and humor, and galvanized many, many others in the effort. It is hard to imagine Middletown without her.
What a gracious way she chose to live her last months: frank, sometimes wistful, sometimes humorous about her situation. With her family's and our elected leaders' help, Katchen gave her community and herself the chance to honor and celebrate her life. She struck such a nice balance of accepting and enjoying the praise and love that was expressed for her, and also expressing her thoughtful appreciation for so many others who aided her accomplishments.
Katchen deeply knew and deeply lived the meaning of community.
She's given us our orders for many projects yet to be realized; let's get to it
What an amazing life well lived
