Thank you Steve! My Mom was a very special person for sure! I appreciate your memories of her!
I was sad to hear of the passing of this great woman. I worked with her in Mobile in the 1980s, we had some of the most spirited discussions on politics, education, life, faith, and sometimes just nonsense for fun, her sense of humor and intelligence are things I remember most, the world is a lesser place with her leaving it. I'm sure she's giving advice to Saint Peter on some issue right now lol. She'll always be missed.
Condolences to Gretchen's family. She will be missed by many. I worked with her in the coast guard. I wish I had understood what she was trying to say back then. I still probably wouldn't have listened, but she was right. Gretchen was a great friend and will be missed by all.
"Go rest high on that mountain for we know your work on earth is done". Although I did not see you much in the past few years I remember all the early days, you were always full of like and a true joy to be around, I can only hope that I could bring people a small portion of laughter that you brought to people, rest easy and kiss your mom and your aunt Deal (grandmaw Winchester) you will missed upon this earth. love you!!!!
Gretchen was one of the finest women I have ever had the privilege of knowing.A truly genuine, kind, and unique person. The world is much less brighter place without Gretchen in it. She shines as brightly as the stars now, and rests in the arms of God.
My prayers and condolences go out to the entire family with much love. I will remember her in prayer at mass.
Gretchen I will miss you so much. Our family is so amazing and special. What wonderful memories we have but things won't be the same without you. You will always be remembered in the storytellings we are so famous for!!!! Rest in peace my beautiful Gretchen.
Monie Brunson Russo, daugter of Irma Grace French, will always remember the fun times going to Aunt Theresa's. Gretchen made me laugh all the time. the memories of her will always be of love, Rest in Peace .
mom, you were the best person I've ever known and my best friend, I celebrate you life and truly morn the world's loss. I love you so much
Oh Georgia, if only there were something I could say. Your mother was an amazing woman; you see a lot of her in you. And while she herself may no longer be here, her spirit lives on in you and the rest of her family. I know so little about her, so I want to hear some stories! I'm sure she had some amazing tales. I love you guys, and keep her memory alive. Because if her memory lives on, she will never really leave.
she always make you think about the important ,,thing in life.............
God rest your soul Gretchen. We go back a long way with the Coast Guard. Save me a place in Heaven!
Mom, you were someone very special to everyone who knew you. I can not express how much you are missed by Jozef and myself, Tim and Natasha and all you sisters(cousins), neices, co-workers and friends. There will NEVER EVER be another Gretchen Marie Ewert Martin Bochenek!
How to say good bye to not only my cousins, but my best friend? I know she was deep in her fath and loved ones. She had a wonderful sense of humor and love for the human race. I will miss our weekly calls and letters. She was always there to talk to in good times and bad times. I loved her so much and will honor her in my heart for ever, but the hole in my heart will never be healed.
With fondest of memories. Nancy March Scott, Murphy Class of '58
I have fond memories of playing with Gretchen when we were children. She and her brother, George, were my only Ewert cousins.
You have my deepest sympathy to the family. I hope that you draw some comfort in knowing that God is near to all those calling upon his name; and is always ready to show his strength in behalf of those whose heart is complete toward him. (Psalm 145:18; 2 Chron. 16:9)
