My dear Lamar, I just heard of your passing only yesterday. I am deeply saddened by the news. Roger Evans (Ronnie Evans' brother), told me. You have touched many through the years. RIP, my friend.
To your family, I pray that, God reaches down from heaven and save you from your sadness.
Man, we had some times "back in the day". Lotsa fun and laughs. You, Dennis, Dallas and David with The Fat Chance Band. Gonna miss you pal. RIP.
Gonna miss you daddio. I always loved you and am thankful for you always being there for me and my family and inviting us into yours. Rest in peace Lamar. You are truly missed.
I worked at the High C when Lamar played there with the Slaphappy Band. I looked forward to going to work on Friday and Saturday nights because I loved to hear them play. I had the best job ever...I got paid to listen to a wonderful band all night :)...I haven't seen Lamar in years, wasn't aware he was ill...my thoughts and prayers are with you all...he was a kind and wonderful man...and one heck off a musician.

Hey Buster...thank you for taking such good care of us those many years ago. You always were one of the good guys. It took your funeral for me to finally meet your sweet baby girl. No wonder you were so proud. Love you always.
Hey Lamar I was so happy to find out that we were not only brothers in music but the most important kind, brothers in Christ. I am a little envious though for you have now met face to face with Jesus. I was so hoping to get together and talk over old times with you after running into you in Tillmans Corner, and becoming friends on facebook but the Lord needed you more so Rest in Piece Brother and I'll see ya when my journey is over. Roger (not Ronnie's brother)
I worked next door to Lamar in Montgomery in the mid'70s...I will never forget his kindness and his fine musicianship, and he was a master of the one-liner...I am so glad we were able to reconnect in the past year via the Internet...rest easy, brother Lamar...you will not be forgotten.
We go back A long way old Buddy. I have known you since the age of 13 and stood up as your Godfather when you were Baptized. I lost touch with you thru the years and it broke my heart that we never got to talk about our childhood years. God has the master plan for all of us and I know we will meet again one day old friend. Until then keep playing for the Angels Randy
I feel honored to have been a frend of Lamar's for over 30 years. He has touched my life as only a best friend can. We were brothers from the day we met. I look forward to seeing him again in heaven some day. Rev. John & Penny Nichols

I've known Lamar since about 1963 in Oakdale when he had that beautiful '57 Chevy. He was always kind to me. As a musician he was diligent and enjoyed what he did. I will look for you when It's my time to be in glory so for now I pray that angels will carry you safely into the arms of God. I enjoyed talking to you about Jesus not too long ago and now I know you are with Him. Rest in Peace my friend.
