I've just heard from my daughter that Joyce passed away and is being laid to rest tomorrow. My mother happen to see it in the newspaper today Sunday November 18, 2012 and she contacted my daughter and my daughter called me about around 3:30 p.m., this afternoon. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and Mel as she copes with one of the most heart wrenching situations of her life. I can only imagine what she and her brother must be feeling today. My heart also goes out to my grandmother who I know is strong but I am certain that this situation must be tough for her also.

I had an opportunity to visit with Joyce on Tuesday July 31, 2012 before I left Mobile to return to my home in Huntsville, AL and I was struck by her unwavering faith and upbeat attitude. She was always upbeat and filled with uplifting words. I never heard her complain she was filled with a calming and redeeming spirit. We travel this way but once and we must make it count and it is my belief that Joyce made it count. On those occasions that I had an opportunity to talk with her I always walked away feeling blessed that I knew her and that she was a part of my family.

Although my heart is heavy I am certain that all is now well with Joyce and I know that God is much too wise to make a mistake and that we will see Joyce again though we know not when for we have miles yet to travel before we sleep.

May God Bless All of You is my prayer,
