To the Bertucci family, we are so sorry for your loss. What a wonderful doctor he was for my 'sickly' child. He cared for her with love and understanding. Doctors like him are hard to find and he was the best. My daughter is now in her 50's and our memories of Dr. B are always with love and kindness. Heaven is a better place now that he is there.

So very sad to hear about Doc Pete. I am very blessed for having met him and knowing him a tiny bit. I only wish I could bring him a big mess of crabs one more time. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Dr. Pete - We'll miss you. The Destin Godfather! Very few times in someones's life are we able to meet a person we have the upmost respect for and hope that we ourselves could lead such a life and touch others the same way. Dr. Pete was that person. Our family was fortunate to meet Dr. Pete and the Bertucci family over 40 years ago in Destin Florida and establish an annual summer tradition whereby five families would gather every July for a week and watch generations grow. I always looked forward to my time with Doc at the beach as we would catch up, share stories and discuss all types of topics ranging from healthcare, sports, raising kids and a mutual hobby - sharing blackjack stories. Myself, being a father of four I would always watch Dr. Pete and his relationship with his family and admire the respect, love and devotion he had from his family and hope that our own families could experience that special bond. He always had time for everyone from swimming laps with Landon, pulling the Murmuring Surf sand burs from Paige's finger, listening to Tripp's tales and converting Reed into another Bertucci type fishing fanatic. Watching Dr. Pete effortlessly cruise through the Gulf waves with his snorkle upright, relaxing on the beach with his special pipe and holding court at the Thursday night Peach Connection, you knew everything was right with life. He had that special ability to communicate without having to say much, like the time when Marianna and I were around 16 and I gathered enough nerve to ask the "Godfather" if I could take Marianna to dinner in Destin and be back by 10:00? He looked directly at me and simply said, I'm sure you won't be late! Needless to say, I checked my watch every 10 minutes that night... One of many memories from the fortunate time we were able to spend with Doc.

Dolores, Aunt Marianna, Deanie, Marianna, Peter and Adrienne, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. Doc was a great man and will be missed by many.

We were so sorry to hear about Dr.Pete's death. We have lots of good memories of our times with him and his family in Florida. Mark still remembers his showing him how to throw a fishing net!
And we remember the fun we had painting the window sashes and putting razorback stickers on them! We'll keep you and your family in our prayers.
