In GHS, Marilyn was active in student council, 4-H, was in the Junior Class play"Paint the Town Pink, and she served as parliamentarian and vice-president of FHA. Marilyn was also a member of the Pep Squad, and we could always count on her helping decorate floats for Homecoming. In 1966, Marilyn took 2nd place in the Beef Cook-off Contest. It comes as no surprise to her classmates that in her adult life, Marilyn enjoyed baking and entertaining family and friends. In her retirement, Marilyn enjoyed playing dominoes and attending Bible studies.

As a young girl, Marilyn loved growing up in the beautiful Gallion, AL countryside on her parents' farm. Here she enjoyed horseback riding and barrel racing. Many of us can visualize Marilyn walking the halls of GHS, her blond hair in a pony tail, and smiling and speaking to everyone she passed in the hallways.

At our 50th Anniversary reunion on November 17, 2017, one of our classmates led us in a prayer for Marilyn as we know she was fighting a hard battle.

The Greensboro High School and Southern Academy Class of 1967 on the 50th Anniversary of our graduation sends their deepest condolences and love to Marilyn's family and friends.
