Annie Yvonne Goodwin, a lifelong resident of Mobile county, went home to be with our Lord at age 72. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louie Vaughn Goodwin and Annie Rebecca Goodwin. She is survived by her brother, Louie Grover Goodwin and his wife Myra Thomas Goodwin (Fort Worth TX), nephews Chris Goodwin (Houston), Eric Goodwin (Arlington TX) and niece Apryl Goodwin (Fort Worth) and great-nephews Corey (Fort Worth) and Brandon (Houston). Yvonne was a 1963 graduate of CF Vigor High School (Pritchard AL). She attended Livingston State College transferring to the University of South Alabama where she earned a BA degree in English in 1970. Yvonne loved reading and long conservations with all she met. Yvonne took a computer class, became a volunteer and then an employee of Independent Living Center (ILC) Mobile for 17 years. She was very proud of the work of ILC Mobile and loved all who she worked with. Yvonne enjoyed classical music. She played violin for several years at Vigor and the Mobile Student Symphony Orchestra. She placed in the All State Orchestra at the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa). She briefly played violin with the Meridian (MS) Orchestra. She enjoyed watching Alabama football games -Roll Tide! At Yvonne's request her body will be donated to the University of South Alabama for the advancement of science. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 15 at 11:00 AM, Holy Family Church, 1400 Joyce Road, Mobile AL 36618, Fr. Neske presiding. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Holy Family Church.
