Mr. Sawyer was one of my favorite people during my years at Mobile College (Univ. of Mobile). I think of him often and his quotes...."Only Jesus went about doing 'good' and you will do 'well' to remember that!" I've never misused those words since. He was a great man with the quirkiest sense of humor and an awesome Music Theory teacher. Because of him, I developed a love for music theory that I still have today. Rest in peace Mr. Sawyer. I will NEVER forget you!

Blessings on you, Caroline, as you pass thie valley again!! Your Daddy and Mother were dear friends of ours during the early days of Mobile Univ. Had wondered how things were with your family for some time. Know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Your parents were indeed "givers" to the community and the music world, as well!

Mr. Sawyer pushed me and many others to a place of learning and knowledge of music that I would have never thought possible. In the years since seeing him, I think if him and his music theory classes often. All I can say, is that " the Big Iron Bird" has finally landed in the Heavenly Choirs..
