I worked at Flys in 1970 it was my first job making 50 cents an hour. The things I learned from Mrs Fly was worth a lot more then the 50 cents per hour. I have some great memories with a really great lady.

Thinking of all you as you celebrate the extraordinary life of this beautiful lady. I enjoyed my visit this summer with Nannie Fly. She looked up at me with that sweet smile that can melt a heart.

To the family of one of the sweetest persons I ever knew, please accept my condolences. Even though she wasn't born in the South, she was a true Southern Lady. I first met Miss Ruth about 57 years ago. She and Mr Wayland were setting up the store on Broad & Baltimore. I rode my bike there and went in, not knowing they weren't open for business yet. All I wanted was a package of sweetpea flower seeds. Miss Ruth said that even though they weren't open yet,she would be honored for me to be her 1st customer. I bought those seeds, when home and grew the prettiest sweetpea flowers you could imagine. I was 8 or 9 at the time. To this day, everytime I see a sweetpea, I think of Miss Ruth. I'll say special prayers for her. May she Rest In Peace.
