Our Dad (My Step-Dad) Harold Adams loved visiting and spending time with his sister. He always had a glow after spending time her. We are all assured of their presence with our Lord and Savior.

Brother and sister reunited forever in heaven...amen.

My unique and very special friendship with Shirley started thirty years ago and our age span was also thirty years! Shirley was one of those rare gems, a person who lived life with integrity and from her heart. We all experienced Shirley's abundant love and laughter, as well as her remarkable creative talents. I can't begin to write all the memories I hold dear to me, as well as the numerous knitted and needlepointed items she made for me and my family, especially my girls while growing up. What a gift she was for all of us! She will be greatly missed.

I remember the day I learned that I had a cousin named Shirley Adams and my subsequent trip to visit her in San Francisco. She was a beautiful and talented person who was always ready to help others. The first time we met I discovered she had worked at Camp La Verne at the times that I had been in residence there.I will miss her and her knitting. She will always be in my heart.

For thirty-four years, Shirley was a wonderful friend of mine. We laughed together, fumed together about the same politicians, jointly loved our family members. I continue to hear her boisterous laugh, her characteristic openness to so many people whether she necessarily agreed with them or not; she loved generously. I am one lucky man to have her with me in my heart.

Our niece Shirley was a loving, generous, talented woman. Her fingers were never idle, leaving many examples of her creativity behind for all who knew and loved her. She will not soon be forgotten.

Shirley was an amazing human being. She was always so kind and gracious. Shirley was my father Paul Jobin's best and oldest friend. We loved her dearly. Thank you for being you.

To my old friends
Its very sad news about the passing Shirley, she was one of the most unforgettable people in my life, a great friend and mentor over my eight years at Edgewood. I had many great times at her house talking, drinking, eating and listening to jazz and opera. She had the power to change my behavior with a frown or a smile which was behavior mod at it's best. I am sorry, I never saw her again after she moved from SF. I did call her once, from Ocean Beach and talked to her for two hours about you all. What a women, I will always think of her. love to all

Whenever I think of flowers or good food or laughter I will remember you. You are permanently alive in my heart. From "Aunt Fanny"

Shirley was my mom's best friend and roommate in college. They remained dear friends for life, and she was a special part of my childhood. I remember the Barbie/Tammy doll clothes she knitted for me as a child. They were so tiny and cute. She introduced my brothers and I to artichokes (which we loved),and "boozy chocolate pudding". She is the only person in the world who could get away with calling my mom Pat, "Patty". She was always so full of joy and love, and I know she is having a party with my mom in heaven. She will be dearly missed, and I am grateful she was part of our lives.
Sincerely,
Joni (Baum) Foulks~

We will miss you terribly Aunt Shirley. We were so fortunate that at retirement you chose to come live with us in San Clemente. During the 15 years you lived with us you taught us so many wonderful things that I will cherish forever, and pass down to my children someday. Christmas morning and Valentines day will never be the same with out you You were something special and I am grateful for our special friendship. God Bless you!
My thoughts and prayers are with your many family members in Modesto.
All My Love, Jen
