I knew Bill's father, Cyrus, from the time I arrived in Turlock from France at age 14 in the late 1940s. I have known Calvin, Bill's brother, from that time as well, as we both sang in the church choir at St. John's in Turlock. I never met Bill, but I send my sympathies to all his family. I would have especially enjoyed meeting him, as I share his interest in track and field.

I just today learned at my office of Mr. Moorad's passing. I was his dental hygienist for years and I will miss him very much. He was always cheerful and we shared many a laugh. Mr. Moorad loved people. He liked to hear what I'd been up to and often had some words of advice. I will not forget him.

Claudia and Family,
I am so sorry to read about your Dad. I never had the pleasure of meeting him, however he sounds like a great man. I hope the happy memories of your Dad will help you during this time. I have been through this with my Mother. The emptiness does not go away but the happy times you spent with your Dad will help ease this.

My prayers are with all the family In your time of sorrow.
Will always remember your kind ways and warm smile.

Bill you will be missed very much at Skewers. You are like family to us. Your spot will always be empty here at skewers. It was a honor to meet you.

We are grateful for our parents Bill & Saralee Moorad and the community of friends and family they've been part of creating over the last 86 years in Modesto CA. Dad had a successful heart valve replacement at Stanford Hospital March 5, only to have his weakened body give way to infection and kidney failure last Monday March 18, 2013. He squeezed every bit of life out of his body in order to have time with his bride of almost 60 years. We thank each of you for being an important part of our Dad/Husband's life and invite you to share your experiences here about Bill Moorad, "a one of a kind Dad, Husband, Brother and Uncle, Civic Leader and Friend."
