Every month when the Progressive comes, the first thing we read is Molly's column. Thank you for making being liberal and Texan so much fun. We will miss you and Ann so much.

Dear Molly,

Great sadness is permeating the world now that your wit has been silenced. We need you now more than ever, but thank you for all you gave us in your brief time here. Your humor and wisdom that were combined so brilliantly in your work will be a beacon to others and a torch for us to pick up and guide the future. May you rest in peace. I'd love to sit around the Heavens with you and Art Buchwald when the time comes. Looking down from above I'm sure we're a sight! Thank you!

Thanks for the great columns and trying to warn us about "Shrub". You will be remembered as a prophet

We have all suffered a great loss with the very untimely passing of a straight-talking and sharp-eyed observer of more than just politics but of the human condition. And she did it all with a unique sense of humor.

My heart is broken! I absolutely adored Molly and her way with words and her true blue liberal spirit. I can't imagine a world without her and Anne Richards. I guess we women need to step it up and get uppity now. Bang some pots and pans in the street, indeed!!!

As a columnist, the finest compliments I've ever been paid are those comparing my work to Molly Ivins'. Of all the people out there in print, she was my idol. May her salty spirit live on.

With the death of Molly Ivins today, I've lost the last member of my personal Texas Triumvirate whose insights and wisdom have had a huge influence on my life. The other members are Barbara Jordan and Ann Richards. Oh, how I will miss Molly. But, oh, how I grateful I am to God for her - and for Barbara and Ann - for opening doors, elevating dialogue, championing ordinary folks and telling us what was what! How lucky we have been to have them in our midst. I wonder what Molly will have to say about heaven!
