He is known as “the finest of Americans”. Though I never met him, I admired him as he was my leader during the first Iraqi conflict, Desert Storm. I watched every interview with him - mesmerized by his intelligence, humility, and charisma. Though I never had a hero growing up nor any in my young adult life, he was one of two heroes that I have.
I will miss him.
