I met Kirk at the Landscape Architects Exam in San Francisco. We had an immediate connection and wound up collaborating on a few projects. He was an amazing talent in the landscape design field and always an inspiration to me. we caught up with each other in 2013 , it had been a while, since I moved to Oregon. He was a great friend, an amazing designer (I'll never go to a Taco Bell in the bay area without thinking about Kirk). Love you bud, Steve Schlesener

We just found out about Kirk's passing while visiting the old neighborhood on Barkley Ave in August 2014. While saddened by his passing I will always fondly remember the fantastic times we had detailing his van, road trips, camping, golfing (he got me hooked!!!) and his incredible sense of humor. He was a great friend to me and my future wife Cindy back then and I regret losing touch with him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Morton family. See you later on down the road my friend!

Kirk was a major influence in my life during those formative years in high school. First met him in Ms. Raganussi's algebra class as freshmen, and we laughed and joked and laughed. He introduced me to many things in life including skiing, rock and roll, the blues, automotive mechanics, irrigation systems, and the list goes on. I think he invented the mogul and I know he was free style skiing before it was a sport. He started my record collection with Columbia Record Club, and that's still going. He hired me as a landscaping “helper” when I was in nursing school. Then he designed my dad's 4 plex yard in Santa Clara which is still growing. I learned and laughed with Kirk. His creativity and influences remain with me. I will always remember him with a smile. Love and prayers to the Mortons. Gail, Scott, Lynn, and Mr. Morton, you were all so nice to me, Kirk is lucky to have you as Family.

Kirk, it was really great catching up with you in Oct at the Wilcox reunion. Lots of fun memories from high school and our ski trips. You packed in a lot of living in your 57 years. You have always been a passionate guy that really enjoyed life. I wish it wasn't so short. I'll miss you very much and always keep you in my prayers. See you later!!
