Wih Christian sympathy to this family.
Leah & Chip, so sorry to hear of your loss. Your parents were always nice to us on their visits to Montgomery. I know that you will truly miss your Father, I miss mine, and the world is never the same whenever we lose a parent(s). Please send our condolences to your Mother and family. Sincerely, Don & Kim Cluck, Montgomery
I remember Dr Lumpkin from his days in Tuskegee. I went to work at Lewis's Drug Store in Tuskegee in 1970 and his precious sweet mother brought homemade cinnamon rolls and yeast rolls to the store for a starving 18 year old boy to have something special to eat. I know how kindness runs in the family and God has received them into his glory and said Well Done!! Sincere sympathy to all his family.
Dr. Lumpkin was a special man. He always looked for the good in people. He was always willing to lend and an ear. I understand that he was a wonderful Sunday School teacher. May he be in Heaven with all the other truly good people. Katherine Roulaine

Our family also loved Dr. Lumpkin. I know that Daddy was proud to have Riley by his side as the city of Tuskegee entered the time of integration. Much love with happy memories from the Rutherford family.

I'm sure I'll join thousands who have been touched by this good man in offering my condolences to the family. Riley was a fraternity brother (KA), a friend and confrere and even though our paths didn't cross for many years, I have fond memories of his smiling face.
I'm astounded at the broad scope of energy that he provided wherever he lived during his time on earth. His children are blessed by having had him as a father and his wife doubly blessed to have been his helpmate in life.
An old friend of many years back. Have thought of Dr. Lumpkin often...
I had the privilege of working with Dr. Lumpkin at the Tuscaloosa County Health Department. He was always kind and helpful to the patients and the employees. He left his mark on this old world in a positive way. A lot of downtrodden people are better for having known him. May God be with his family during this sad time.
