Mrs. Inez Vines Stephens, 84, of Tuskegee died Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at Vines Funeral Home Chapel, LaFayette, Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. (CST) with Pastor Troy L. Garner officiating. Interment will be at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. The remains will lie instate at the chapel one hour before the service.
Mrs. Stevens was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church and a participant in several organizations in the Tuskegee area. She worked as an elementary school teacher early in her career and later as an administrator at Tuskegee Institute for fifteen years.
She is preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, William R. Stephens.
Mrs. Stephens is survived by her son: William R. (Pamela) Stephens II, Huntsville; her daughter: Carol Yvette (Michael) Colvin; Tuskegee; one granddaughter: Bianca (Rashod)Frasier, Atlanta, GA; one great-grandson Ian Frasier, Atlanta, GA; a loving sister, Anne Traylor, Altadena, CA, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Vines Funeral Home, Inc., LaFayette, AL is handling the arrangements.
