Carol, So sorry for you loss. I worked with your Mom for several years and she was a wonderful lady. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I was so sad to learn of your mother's death. She was such a precious lady and my mothers dearest friend. Mother missed her so much after having to move to Birmingham. They had so many good times together and I'm sure they are rejoicing over seeing one another.

Dear Carol and other family members -- I began work at Capell, Howard & Cobbs in 1959 and met and fell in love with Mary. I will never forget a funny story she told me about Mr. Capell. Mr. Capell had been out of town in Washington and came home very late on a Sunday night and forgot to change his watch back to Central Time from Eastern time. On Monday morning about 6:00 he called Mary (thinking it was 7:00) and asked if she could meet him at the office soon because he had to be in Court at 9:00 and needed something typed to take with him. She said "yes," (but not knowing he thought it was 7:00). She got to the office, he dictated the document (by then it was then about 7:20 a.m., but he thought it was 8:20) and said "Ms. E. do you think you can have this typed and back to me by about 8:45 or so, so that I can get to Court by 9:00." She said "well, I certainly hope so Mr. Capell, it's not very long and it is only 7:20." Mr. Capell looked at his watch and then realized he had not changed it back to Central time. He said "Oh, Ms. E, I am SO SORRY, I thought it was 8:20!!!" They got a good laugh out of it, but Mr. Capell felt so bad and it REALLY made him remember to always turn his watch back to Central time when he went out of town and came back to Montgomery. Mary will be missed immensely in the legal community. Anna Fay Shaw

Easterling Family,
May God continue to keep you all in His care. Mrs. Mary was a wonderful and caring lady. She always had a smile on her face and a desire to help others. She always helped my parents: Robert and Mary while working at the firm. Be Blessed.
