So sorry to hear of Rev. Fred's passing. I met him at Dalraida United Methodist Church. I joined at DUMC in 2003. He will be missed as he was a wonderful counselor and minister.

Eddie Ruth & Family, so sorry for your loss, having read all the entries of guest book, what a wonderful legacy he leaves. A gentle man of God. The last time I saw you both was in Anniston a few years ago but have memories at Aunt Vick's house in the summer and all of us waterskiing right before you two were married. Your cousin,

Rev Fuller was a wonderful man of God. It goes almost without saying what he meant to my family especially to my Mother. He officiated over the services of my Father and Mother and several other family members. He was a wonderful man. My deepest Sympathy to all family .

Dear Fuller Family,

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. "Pop" taught me quite a lot, not only from the pulpit, but from real life and mostly by example. He was a true man of God and he touched so many lives and made things so much better for so many and expected no recognition for doing so. He will be missed but he has left a legacy that will never be forgotten.

Mrs. Eddie Ruth, I received word on Tuesday of Brother Fred's death and immediately thought of the love he often expressed to us at Leak-Memory for you and the rest of the family. I can say to you today that Brother Fred often made my day just by being in the room and flashing that grin of his. I know he will be missed. My prayers and thoughts are with you during this time.

I feel blessed to have known Rev. Fred Fuller at FUMC. His kindness and love for others glowed from his eyes and through his warm hugs. He had the ability to remember everything about you and was quick to follow up on how you were doing. His LOVE will remain here with all the lives he has touched, and Heaven has another Angel to watch over His flock. My sympathy to his family and all who will feel a void left from the passing of this "gentle giant servant of God".

Dearest Fullers, I am soooo sorry to hear of Preacher Man's passing. But, what a glorious time he must be having in heaven, those big beautiful eyes reflecting no pain; singing harmony in the heavenly choir; and fellowshipping with those who've gone before him. I will never forget Preacher Man: a man of gentleness, compassion, mercy, and kindness. He called me in 2009 when my daughter, Julianne, was in the hospital getting chemotherapy - how comforting to hear that soothing voice. (He first called my home and talked to my older daughter, Caroline, who later commented about the kindness that he exuded, even over the phone.)

When y'all first moved to Abbeville, he was the tallest man I'd ever met, being from a family of "vertically challenged" folks. His height was no match for his heart, though; his heart was bigger than his stature! What a great time we had when he drove the youth to Lake Junaluska! And he was sooooo dear to come back to Abbeville to marry Charles and me (26 years ago).

I know your hearts are hurting, but I pray that God will comfort you, strengthen you and encourage you as you trust in Him; and I'm thankful for the assurance that we will see Preacher Man again!

Much love and many hugs,

What a wonderful man and pastor Fred was in Troy and he was, no doubt, a true man of God. He was also a terrific friend, athlete, husband and father. I'll never forget him standing at the church piano and pounding out some boogie music. He will be missed. Prayers to Eddie Ruth and entire family.

My heart and prayers are with the family of this sweet man. My family only knew him a brief time but his kindness, love for his family and his Lord tells us that while the world will miss such a wonderful man, heaven now has one of the sweetest angels!

I am saddened to hear of Mr. Fred's passing. He was our family's pastor in Benton, AL during the 1960's. He was a great comfort to my mother and our family during some of our darkest hours at that time. I pray God's peace on Eddie Ruth and family.

Fred had such a sweet, sweet spirit. We did not get to know him until he "retired" to First UMC, but our lives, like those of so many others, were richly blessed by having known him. Our prayers go out to each member of his family, whom he loved dearly. He will be greatly missed.

Fred will always hold a special place in our hearts as he and Eddie Ruth were our pastoral family during our son's teen years and they were both wonderful Christian role models and leaders for our teens. John and I had the privilege of serving with them as the Youth Leaders. We had some wonderful times together and have stories to fill the memory book for some time to come. Our hearts are heavy for the family, but Heaven gained a true servant. Rest well, Fred. We miss you, but we will see you again one day.
