My father took me to many Cardinals games as a child. I was at a double header on a Sunday afternoon sitting behind the Cards dugout. Between games when the teams were warming up I went down to the fence to get Stan's autograph. He saw me standing there and came over and autographed my scorecard. Fast forward; my wife, a friend and myself were at Musial and Biggie's for dinner. Stan stopped by our table to talk to us. I told him about the autograph he had given me many years before. He said he remembered and made me feel great. I later figured out he didn't remember everyone he signed a scorecard for, but he made everyone feel like somebody. Always a gentleman. He is not only a great loss to St. Louis, but to mankind in general.
