Beatrice MORRIS Obituary

MORRIS, Beatrice Anne McDonell (Bea)
April 23, 1954 - November 12, 2012
After a courageous battle with cancer, our beloved Bea passed away peacefully at the Montreal General Hospital. Born and raised in Ottawa, Bea currently resided in Pointe-Claire, QC. Her memories will be treasured by her husband Billy and her children; Francis (Sarah), Meaghan (Blake), Patrick and Kayley and one grandchild Owen. She will also be lovingly remembered by her parents, Francis and Kaye McDonell and her brothers, Michael (Wendy), Patrick (Bev), Jamie (Mary), and Tim (Cheryl). Bea worked for Dr. Morton and Dr. McLean in Montreal. The outpouring of cards and prayers from her colleagues and Dr. McLean's patients made it clear that Bea was so much more than a voice at the other end of the line. The family would like to thank all the wonderful care givers who treated Bea, especially Dr. Lawlor and the Palliative Care Team at the MGH and Dr. Marcoux, Bea's surgeon, and our "family" at the Neuro, who were always in her corner. What Bea meant to her friends, family, and a large extended family cannot be put into words. She will always be best remembered for her big heart and her generosity which knew no bounds. Rest in peace sweet Bea. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the Montreal Neurological Institute, brain tumor research online at www.mni.mcgill.ca/donate/ways/. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772) on Friday, November 16, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Finnan's Cathedral, Alexandria on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in the St. Catherine of Sienna Parish Cemetery, Greenfield. As a Memorial to Bea a tree will be planted in Memory Woods. Condolences may be made online at www.munromorris.com.

Meaghan, Kayley and Family,

My deepest sympathies to you and your family during this sad time. Although I never had the honour of meeting Beatrice, I know that she was a wonderful wife and mother based on the beautiful things you have said about her over the years. You two are both a reflection of her kindness and beauty and remember that you have so many wonderful memories to share with your family and friends.

Rest in peace Beatrice...you will be deeply missed.

With love,
Natasha Montemurro

To the beloved family of dear Bea,

We cannot imagine the emotions you are going through and will continue to go through with the loss of your mom, wife, and Grand-Mom, but you also must be so very relieved that she is finally finished her own suffering. I am sure that she would want all of you to now spend your time now just reliving many happy memories that you no doubt shared together.

I only knew Bea through Dr. MacLean's office but I really enjoyed our chats. She even made booking appointments a comforting call.
Rest in peace Bea. And Bless your dear ones.

Sincerely, Cynthia (Cindy) Lynch and daughter, Kate Allan

It is with a sad heart that I hear of the passing of Bea. Bea was always that friendly voice at the other end of the phone when she would call looking for an appointment for one of Dr. MacDonald's patience. She and I would always have a quick conversation about our love of the caribbean islands and she was always quick to offer me friendly shopping advise on the best places to shop. My sincere condolences and prayers go out to all her family, and most especially to "Mr. Morris"
