So saddened to learn only recently that Stuart is no longer with us. Regrettably, I lost contact with him decades ago when there was no internet. I participated in Stuart's theater workshops at McGill in the early 1970s. He made us work very hard indeed and it was most important for him to show us that anything was possible if we put our mind to it. He was tireless and passionate during those workshops and that sense of humour!
With my fond memories and sympathy for his family,
Light Three Candles for Me

stuart's last poem

when it is my time to go
into the great good night
I will be ready

I will smile, one last smile no matter how great my pain and
pray that you will light three candles for me

One for life
One for love
one for all my hopes and dreams

They will bring me to the heavens
They will lead me by the hand
To everywhere I want to be
To everyone I want to see

Brother of the laughing streams
Sister of the dancing flowers
Mother of the shimmering stras
Father of the midnight hours

They will bring me joy and peace
Beyond my silent days and, please

Do not cry for me when I am dead
You never know what lies ahead. i see
A lake of dreams
a field of friends

Fishing boats with candles light
The aurora glow of a quiet night
A happy, crescent golden moon
Weeping waves that kiss the sandy lips
Of the pure white beach
All things I have desired, now in reach.

Stuart ashes will be disposed the way he wishes in that beautiful
Thursday the 26th, he will finally rest under a happy, crescent golden moon, weeping waves that kiss.the sandy lips
of the pure white beach,
All things he had desired now in reach.

Thank you to everybody who loved him, he will finally be at peace.
I miss you Stu. You would be horrified to know that the Nickel's (restaurant) where we enjoyed many fine lunches together has been turned into a McDonald's! Just as would never be the same without you...and your Jumbo smoked meat that you ordered every single time. Seriously, though...Paul and I wouldn't be married if it weren't for you. I'm glad we had the chance to get to know one another again after so many years. Keeping you in my thoughts,
Stewart took me to a better place in my life. So many thank you's I still owe. I won't overdo it though as I can see him already laughing at me in jest.
Thank you Stewart for the great help over the years.
You are missed.

Dear Friend...remembering you this day of your birthday. Cheers !
Always, Stuart, always and ever I will remember you.
I am deeply saddened to hear of Stuart Gilman having passed. He was a genius in his field, and his guided induction programs were par excellence, none could compare. The world was a better place for having had someone like Stuart in it, he will be remembered by me and my own fondly, for the impact his work has had on my life. Because of his work, and the experiences I have had through them, I know his consciousness survives and lives on, and you (the Gilman family) will be together with him again. My best wishes to the Gilman family. Blessing, health, and happiness to the Gilman family.

Very saddened to see this obituary in the Gazette. Stuart helped me tremendously back in the 70s and later came to my wedding. My husband Andre and I have been together over 30 years.
Very sad to see of his passing so soon
I miss you Dad. To me, you were Superman. I always looked up to you and wanted to make you proud. I am grateful that you were my Dad, and I am proud to have been your son. You taught me so much, and helped me become who I am. You showed me the importance of living life with passion. To describe our relationship in one word would be - Magic. You brought magic to my life, and the memories we shared will continue to enrich me. I will never forget you. I love you Dad - Always. Your Son, Tristan.
My sympathy to the family. I remember the good times. Richard Santo - St. Lambert, Qc.
I am saddend to see that Stuart Gilman passed away.....the last time I saw him was in England in the late 60's where he was persuing an acting career before he returned to North America and began persuing his psychology career.
Stuart was a kind and compassionate person, obviously very intelligent, and had many interests.
By sincere condolances to his family, friends and patients.
